Small Diameter Hollow Stem Auger Capability

Earth Data Northeast specializes in Direct Push Technologies used in all areas of environmental investigation and remediation. Earth Data Northeast owns and operates direct push units with varying capabilities. In addition, all operators are certified as required by OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120. Earth Data Northeast’s field crews understand the requirements for accuracy in their work and have extensive experience in:

  • Drive Point Installation
  • Soil Vapor Surveys with Field Portable Gas Chromatography
  • Soil Core Sampling (continuous or discrete)
  • Ground Water Sampling (from discrete depths)
  • Sparge Point Installation
  • Extraction Point Installation
  • Proper Grouting Procedures for Boring Abandonment

EQUIPMENT CAPABILITY

Earth Data Northeast maintains a well-equipped metal and electronics shop to fabricate special tools, field instruments and sampling devices.

Earth Data Northeast also maintains an extensive inventory of construction materials, tooling and related direct push
sampling equipment.

Earth Data Northeast owns and operates 4-wheel drive truck-mounted direct push units to ensure access to your locations.

Capabilities include:

  • Direct push depths to 25 feet with soil core samples to 2 inches in diameter.
  • Auger drilling (hollow and solid stem) from 2 to 4.25 inches in diameter and depths to 50 feet.

The dual capabilities of the vehicle-mounted model allow this unit to auger through coarse deposits then continue with any direct push tooling which means deeper penetration in gravelly soils or fill. Typical applications of the auger unit include:
    • Vapor Extractions Wells (4 inch diameter)
    • Monitor Wells (2 inch diameter)
    • Drive Point Piezometers (1.25 inch diameter or less)
    • Air Injection Points

Using the direct push units in conjunction with Earth Data Northeast’s mobile field screening services allows for rapid sample feedback to optimize grid placement.

EARTH DATA NORTHEAST EXPERIENCE

Earth Data Northeast has available, licensed well drillers to operate the direct push units. This eliminates the need to subcontract a registered driller to oversee the sampling event, thus reducing potential job costs and liabilities from regulatory agencies. All of Earth Data Northeast’s operators have a minimum of two years experience in environmental field
services and related areas.
